With funding from UNHCR and implemented by the HUMAN ACCESS branch in Marib Governorate, the Bin Ower Well Rehabilitation Project was launched in Al-Nuqai’a IDP Camp. This project is part of an integrated initiative to improve the lives of the most vulnerable displaced people through quick-impact projects.
The launch ceremony was attended by representatives from the General Authority for Rural Water Projects and the Executive Unit for IDP Camp Management in Marib. The project involved the rehabilitation of the Bin Ower well and its associated water network and facilities, serving 180 beneficiary families and addressing the growing need for clean water.
Yemen is one of the world’s most water-scarce countries due to climate change and declining seasonal rainfall. Access to safe drinking water is among the biggest challenges facing Yemenis, especially those in displacement camps. This vital project will help improve access to safe drinking water and reduce waterborne diseases.
