Funded by UNHCR and implemented by HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate, and attended by several local officials, a sanitation improvement project was inaugurated in Al-Suwaida Camp for displaced persons, as part of the integrated project activities.
The project serves 37 displaced families in the new residential block No. 16 in Al-Suwaida Camp. It included the construction of a large communal septic tank with sedimentation ponds for wastewater treatment, in addition to a safe sewage network connecting all latrines to the collection tank.
This rapid-impact project is designed to reduce the spread of many diseases and epidemics associated with the lack of sanitation services and improve the quality of life in the various displacement sites, amidst a significant increase in sanitation needs due to the growing number of displaced persons as a result of the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
