As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, HUMAN ACCESS implemented a series of activities under the Women and Girls’ Livelihoods Support Project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to strengthen digital awareness and empower women and girls to confront online violence.
In Marib Governorate, a specialized training course on Cybersecurity Fundamentals was conducted under the slogan “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.” The training targeted 20 participants from university students and recent graduates, aiming to enhance their digital literacy and provide them with practical skills that keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital world.
The training combined theoretical and practical components, focusing on understanding common cyber threats, securing personal accounts, using digital protection tools, and responding appropriately to extortion attempts, as well as addressing technology-facilitated violence against women and girls.
In Al-Wadi District, the life-skills, marketing, and financial management course was concluded for women enrolled in vocational training programs in sewing and beauty care, aiming to equip them with essential personal and economic skills that prepare them for the labor market and support them in launching their own small businesses.
Meanwhile, in Al-Mahrah Governorate, a radio program was aired through a local station to mark International Volunteer Day, observed annually on 5 December. The discussion highlighted the role of women in volunteerism and their contributions to advancing community initiatives and accelerating progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
